Who are we?

Avivia, part of the Ofichem group, is a pharmaceutical R&D service company specializing in innovative pharmaceutical product development and characterization. We are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our international, highly skilled team in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. As part of the Avivia team, you will have the opportunity to make an impact within a growing scale-up, and to develop new skills not only in analytical chemistry but also in pharmaceutical formulation development.

Job Description

As an Analytical Chemist, you are a key member of the R&D team. Your role is to analyze new or existing pharmaceutical formulations to support the development of products for our customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Development and optimization of a wide variety of analytical methods and techniques, such as drug purity assay via (U)HPLC, SEC, GC, dissolution testing and stability studies.
  • Solving a variety of analytical challenges
  • Using the methods developed to characterize new formulations, determine their release profile and assess the long-term stability.
  • Maintenance of all R&D equipment and systems
  • Provide and discuss analytical test data and observations directly with the R&D Team. Based on your input, the next step in formulation development will be made. Alongside your analytical role, there is also the opportunity to work with the R&D team on product development projects.

What we ask of you

We are looking for an accurate, team player with a sharp mind, flexible attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, who can contribute to our mission:

  • You have an education in (analytical) chemistry (Bachelors/Masters);
  • You have knowledge of U/HPLC, GC, UV-VIS, SEC and preferably dissolution testing;
  • Several years of experience in a similar role is an advantage.
  • You enjoy working in the lab
  • You recognize yourself in a “can-do” mentality; You pick things up and run with them
  • You are Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • You are able to translate goals into a feasible plan of action.
  • Good communication skills in spoken and written English (Dutch is a pre)
